WB Summary: A surprise phone call from Christopher (David Sutcliffe, who does not appear in the episode) brings up issues of trust between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson). Later, when a person from Luke’s past shows up in Stars Hollow, he has no idea how to tell Lorelai about it. After months of estrangement, Lorelai and Rory (Alexis Bledel) make their first move toward reconciliation and Rory takes major steps to change the direction of her life. The episode was written and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Elise’s Comment:
Reconciliation: Finally! That scene almost brought me to tears.
Rory has a new job and is going back to Yale: All of a sudden everything is back on track? It was as easy as that? I know she stalked the guy at the gazette for a while… but it seemed easy. As if all of a sudden all is forgotten. Or maybe the writers wanted to show that when Rory believes in herself, she can accomplish almost anything.
Luke’s reaction: What was that whole argument for? He really feels threatened by Chris. He didn’t even believe Lorelai when she told him it was the 1st time in a year that he called her. He over-reacted. Lorelai is living with him, not Chris, him. But I’ll mention what I said a couple of weeks ago: The only person who could break Lorelai and Luke up is Christopher.
Luke’s daughter: Then again, maybe she can break L&L. I doubt it. Luke and her mom must not be together for a reason. But to things can’t be perfect on TV. It’s boring (or so they say). As much as we try to hide it, we like it when there’s a little drama (not too much, or we’ll think ourselves on The O.C.). Remember how exciting it was when we wanted L&L to get together, or Rory & Jess… ? But this daughter thing seems really out of the blue. We had never heard of any of Luke’s girlfriends before Rachel. But the daughter (if she really is), seems interesting. I enjoyed the way she was. She’s intelligent like Rory, talks like Lorelai… interesting.
Logan: Was nowhere to be seen. Colin and Finn were helping her. Does this mean that she’s not talking to Logan, and only asked his friends to help? Or is Logan refusing to speak to her?
Emily: I didn’t expect to see her this way. I enjoyed seeing her so vulnerable. I liked it at the end, on the plane, when Lorelai told her “You didn’t lose me”. Very touching. It was a good episode for mother/daughter moments.
Lorelai’s house: I miss the painting close to the front door. I was used to seeing it. But they put it somewhere else, I saw it. Her entrance hall seems empty though.
The bed: OMG! What an ugly thing. So not-Lorelai. And it was freaky. I find old furniture freaky, so I was laughing when she pointed out that it might be haunted.
Sookie & Jackson: Are so adorable. I just had to point it out. I wish we could see their whole family soon. Why did Sookie bring up the subject of China? Are they trying to take Sookie off the show for a while? That would be sad… and Michel would have to start cooking. Ahh!
Lane: Did you notice how she looked like the “old-Lane” with her glasses? Zach was funny. He seemed less, let’s say, stupid, than usual (I know I might sound mean, but it’s true… I keep thinking back to that time when he was flirting with Lorelai when she lent them her garage to rehearse. lol!)
