WB Summary: Lorelai accepts Max's proposal, but when Emily hears about the upcoming wedding from Sookie, she is hurt and angry that Lorelai didn't bother to tell her. Meanwhile, Rory brings Dean to dinner at her grandparents' house and Richard's obvious disapproval of Dean leads to the first fight between Rory and her grandfather. While the whole town is busy making arrangements for Lorelai and Max's wedding, Lorelai finally tells Emily that she's getting married and is hurt by her mother's disinterested reaction. Meanwhile, Rory obsesses about not having enough extracurriculars to get into Harvard and throws herself into building houses for charity.

Elise's Comment: After an entire summer of excellent Gilmore Girls's reruns, I welcomed this much anticipated 2-hour premiere. Finally, a new episode of Gilmore Girls, and that, every week!!! I really liked the fact that it started exactly where it had left off. Funny scenes include Kirk passing out, Dean saying "never beer" and Lane examining her huge suitcase. On a sadder note, Emily's reaction was so unfair, but you could tell she felt sorry, during the last scene. Poor Luke, things will be better soon. Although Max is a great, intelligent guy, I'm one of those Lorelai/Luke supporters. Finally, the wedding shower was very nice: DJ Lane, Sookie's yummy treats, the Hello Kitty gifts...

Rory: When's soon?
Lorelai: When the big hand hits the "S" and the little hand hits the "OON."

Rory: She [Lorelai] takes things that aren't pretty and makes them pretty [...] One time she made individual outfits for my liquid paper bottles. A clown, a cowboy, a newscaster.
