Presenting Lorelai Gilmore
episode #2.06 | written by Elise

Summary: Rory attends her first debutante ball. Lorelai is amazed to see Christopher's more mature side.

Elise's Comment: This was the best episode this season so far. At first, the whole idea of a debutante ball seemed a little weird, but it turned out to be quite good. I was glad to see Christopher back in town, especially after that whole Lorelai-engaged-to-Max thing. My favorite scene was the one at Ms. Patty's, when Lorelai and Christopher were dancing. How adorable! Another adorable scene was when Dean learned he had to wear a tail, and gloves... poor guy. Now, getting to the actual ball; it didn't at all seem like a Rory thing to do, but she did great. Some of the other girls on the other hand... not so great. I also liked the dress Lorelai wore to the ball: very classy. I was kind of sad to learn Christopher had a gilrfriend. For a moment there, I forgot all about Luke, and wanted him and Lorelai to get together. Oh yes, funniest scene: Jess dressing-up like Luke.

Lorelai: You're getting the eggroll yourself?
Rory: Yes.
Lorelai: No! Ladies never get their own eggrolls. Ladies never get their own anything. They don't even get their own ideas.
