I'm OK You're OK
episode #6.17 | written by Elise

WB Summary: Rory (Alexis Bledel) forgives Logan (Matt Czuchry) for his indiscretions, then needs some time for herself, so she pays a visit to Lorelai (Lauren Graham) in Stars Hollow. Although Lorelai (Lauren Graham) refuses to admit that she is upset, Rory can tell that she is bothered by the news that Luke (Scott Patterson) will be gone for a few days on a field trip with his daughter, April (Vanessa Marano, who does not appear in the episode). Against Lorelai's wishes, Rory pays a visit to the store owned by April's mother, Ana (guest star Sherilyn Fenn), to spy on her. Meanwhile, when Zack (Todd Lowe) finally works up the courage to ask Mrs. Kim (Emily Kuroda) for permission to marry Lane (Keiko Agena), he is surprised at the deal she makes with him. The episode was written by Keith Eisner and directed by Lee Shallot Chemel.

Elise's Comment:

It was nice to see a new episode after this hiatus; especially since the last episode was intense. I don't like how the WB compressed all the remaining episodes into one preview. I saw things I would have preferred finding out as they occurred.

I can't believe the Gilmores are thinking of buying a house in Stars Hollow. Invasion! I have an idea of how Lorelai might feel. I don't like it when the part of my life that is separate from my family somehow loses its boundary, and family members come crawling in. Don't get me wrong, I love my family. But sometimes, you need something that's just your own. You need distance... and if your parents are Richard and Emily Gilmore, you need a lot of space.

I don't think Rory forgave Logan. I don't think I would forgive him this soon. This was the same night after all. I won't complain though, because he's the reason she came to Stars Hollow... and we got all that Lorelai/Rory interaction. I see that Logan really loves Rory, and that he probably did think they were broken up... and sex is more of a casual thing for him unless it's with someone he loves. So there, even if he was with those other girls, it doesn't change the fact that he loves Rory. However (yes, there's a however), if he loves Rory, he would understand that, to her, sex is a big commitment, and that he shouldn't go sleep around right away, even if they are broken up. I don't know, there's just something he doesn't get... he needs to wake up and get serious.

I actually thought Rory would live with Paris for a while, in their newly painted apartment. But Doyle was very right when he said that he and Paris are made for each other. They are.

Lane and Zach are so adorable. I really liked the way they involved Zach in the episode this week... without him looking stupid. When he was on the gazebo playing the guitar, I got this idea: he should replace the town troubadour. He shouldn't be a troubadour, but he could just be the random guy playing guitar around town. It would be fun. A collaboration between Zach and Mrs. Kim? Who would've though? He even admitted that she was better than Brian. Mrs. Kim was very reasonable (in her own way) in this episode. I can't believe she gave Lane that ring (I can't believe she let her get engaged).

Luke is still on cloud 9 about his daughter. He needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Can't he see behind Lorelai's "I'm ok" facade? It's so obvious that she’s not ok with it. He shuts her out, and the scary thing is, she's getting used to it and doesn't seem to mind anymore. This thing better explode or get resolved soon. I can't stand this status quo. If Lorelai's reaction to Rory's bag wasn't a sign of things to come, I don't know what is.

Funny moments:
- Spider in the bathroom
- Kirk with his phone thingy
- Michel and his post-its

Yummy moments:
- The food Sookie brought to Lorelai's house

Talk about this episode...
