You've Been Gilmored
episode #6.14 | written by Elise

WB Summary: Emily (Kelly Bishop) tells Lorelai (Lauren Graham) that she'd like to get to know her future son-in-law better and asks her to invite Luke (Scott Patterson) over for dinner. Wanting to avoid an argument, Lorelai purposely fails to mention that the wedding has been postponed. The Yale Daily News staff finally fires Paris (Liza Weil) and chooses Rory (Alexis Bledel) to be the new editor. A furious Paris kicks Rory out of the apartment, and Rory has no idea where she is going to go until Logan (Matt Czuchry) convinces her to move into his apartment. When Rory gives Christopher (David Sutcliffe) a tour of Yale, he learns of the new living arrangement and tells Lorelai. The episode was written by Jordan Nardino and directed by Stephen Clancy.

Elise's Comment:

Uneventful episode, if you ask me. Some big news, but not much action. It was more of what I call a "connecting episode", which closes up some things, and sets up new ones for upcoming episodes. They are the ones that are more enjoyable on the second watch, when we already know the outcome.

Rory Gilmore as Editor! Good news, but what about her job at the Stanford Gazette? The one she stalked the editor for? Humm. I was expecting her to get the job though, so this is very good news. Not for Paris (the girl actually resigned after being fired!). It is very Paris-like to throw Rory out of the apartment. Remember when she hated Rory back at the Chilton paper, and had chosen the staff photo in which Rory was sneezing? I was anticipating the move; however, I thought Rory would be the one to initiate it (because Paris and Doyle are so crazy).

Rory moves in with Logan. I also expected this. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Rory loves Logan; it’s a known fact now. I can't wait to see how that turns out. Will it work out the two of them living together? And yes, it's true; Lorelai has never lived with a guy. That's why to her it's a big move. Well, I consider it to be a very big move too. I wonder if it was time? There is one thing I am sure of however: I liked how Logan and Christopher got along. Those two have a lot of in common; we've discussed it on the Forum before. Now we got it confirmed. This is a step up... now Logan needs to get to know Lorelai. I can't believe Christopher told Lorelai about Rory's housing arrangements. I'm glad he did, although Rory was going to tell her. I like it when they are both communicating, and are on the same side.

Michel was so cute. It was very sweet to learn that he enjoyed those moments with Lorelai. Where was Sookie this week?

Richard's speech about insurance was very boring. We all know how Luke feels. And they suspect April of fraud? What was the point of the diner though? Nothing productive came out of it. Except Luke being "Gilmored". I expected Luke to react more strongly to June 3rd.

Talk about this episode...
