Fight Face episode #6.02 | written by Elise |
Elise's comment:
We better get ready to put our head on someone's shoulder because Paul Anka is in the house -- I just had to say that. I find it very amusing that Lorelai's bad history with pets is coming back to haunt her -- as it did in earlier seasons. Some suggested last week (Forum) that Lorelai may have proposed to Luke as a way to keep something stable in her life; as everything else is falling appart. Rory has moved out, Sookie has a family... so why not buy a dog? Little Paul Anka is adorable; and I'll be sad if this thing turns out to be temporary.
Funny scene: Paul Anka, scared of the architects, runs back to Lorelai's jeep, gets in and closes the door. To everyone's surprise, he has also loked it! I just loved the way he stood on the other side of the window, staring at Lorelai.
Rory is starting to realize the impact of her decisions. Her life with her grandparents is strange and unfamiliar, and her community service hours seem extremely painful -- did you notice that hair when she got back? Just a few months ago she was arguing with Paris at Yale. I wonder if she realizes how lucky she was back then? She didn't need to carry around cigarettes, that's for sure.
I can't stand T.J. (or A.J. the contractor). Luke better find a way to get rid of him because I don't think I'll be able to endure his comments during the duration of the renovations. On that note, I am very happy that Luke and Lorelai have decided to keep Lorelai's house. I love that house.
There's a quote that completely represents my current opinion on the whole Lorelai and Rory argument. It was said close to the end of the episode:
You're both being dumb and
you should be talking.
- Luke
Note: I loved the openning scene with Lorelai and Sookie in front of the Twickham house. Although I did not understand the "I'm 12" reference, I found it interesting that Sookie asked Lorelai if she was going to bolt. Foreshadowing? This should open up discussion on the forum.
