An adorable little episode. Written by: Amy Sherman-Palladino

I liked the reference to the first season with Madeline Albright (although I had no idea who she was at the time). They seem to be making a lot of these small flashbacks lately... Do they want to bring a certain feeling of nostalgia? Bring back the vibe from the first season? I'm not sure if these scenes are doing the trick.

Seeing Lorelai and Rory speak did bring back the old vibe. I just liked the way they looked at each other. Did you see Rory looking back at Lorelai as her friends were dragging her to the cake? I see reconciliation in a near future.

I really liked Luke in this episode. Heck, I loved him. I liked the way he was when he was cooking for Lorelai, I liked the look he had on his face when she was talking about her Halloween plans. Note: No Diner scene this week.

The other day it came to my attention that Gilmore Girls has never made a reference to Halloween. They did this year. And was Maury scary or what? I regret not seeing Kirk dressed like a giant pumpkin or something.

Richard is finally coming to his senses. I'm glad Lorelai had an attitude with him during the opening scene. He deserved it. He didn't listen to her back in the spring, he thought he could handle it his way. Well, big surprise, he can't. Did he expect Lorelai to just accept his second plan? Come on.

Emily needs a wake-up call. The life she is leading is fine for a woman in her late fifties... not for Rory. (I just remembered Luke's questions regarding the DAR). She was offended by Richard's remark... I would be too if I was her. However, he's right. If Rory follows Emily's path, she'll be the perfect woman to marry a Huntzberger (according to Logan's parents). But Rory is destined to be more than a trophy wife who organizes tea parties, as Richard calls them. Lorelai and Richard know this.

I wonder how things will turn out. Will Rory need to be bribed into going back to school. Or will she realize it on her own? Will she ask for help? Who will help her?

It's the second time that they show Rory and Lorelai saying/doing the same things. I guess they have to connect them somehow. First time: the dress for the baptism. 2nd time: 21-birthday plans in Atlantic City.

P.S. #1 Seeing Lane and Zack at the Gilmore mansion was bizarre.
P.S. #2 I just hated the way Emily treated Luke. I needed to point it out.

Talk about this episode...
