Elise's Comment:

Empty.
The episode was empty.
Something was missing.

I don't know if it's the lack of music (because there wasn't much) or if it was done on purpose, to reflect Lorelai and Luke's mood (like in that episode where they broke up in season 5). But it felt empty. I didn't get anything from watching the episode. No Starts Hollow vibe. Also, is it just me or are the camera angles and camera transitions different than before?

It might be me, and my lack of sleep lately (University is insane!). But it didn't feel like Gilmore Girls. My sister got the same reaction.

However, some scenes were memorable.

I loved the fight between Lorelai and Rory. It really hit me. It was very good. I also liked the last scene between the two. It was so much like "The Break-up Part 2" (season 1) when Rory is sitting on the couch with ice cream, crying over Dean.

My sister fears that the show might become too dramatic. She made that comment when we learned that Lane is pregnant. However, I think that's a good storyline, mainly because Lane needs one. Yes she's married, but she still lives with Zach and Brian, and we've already scene the band a milion times. So this is a change, it's good. I just don't know yet if it's the right kind of change.

I think it was the first time that we really saw violence on Gilmore Girls. Luke punching Christopher.

The Kirk storyline disapointed me. Although the "no cell phones" poster was funny.

Liz and TJ: I think they'll be a bigger part of the show, since we got to see their home. If they went through the trouble of creating a new set, we'll see them again.

As I mentionned earlier, I hope that the emptiness of the episode was purposely done to reflect Luke and Lorelai's break-up, and isn't representative of the new season.

Talk about this episode...
