Elise's Comment:

Even though it's a season premiere, this episode was more about resolution. It was the aftermath of last year's finale. However, it was well written. A good episode. I was confused when I saw Amy's name in the openning credits (as producer?).

I felt the dialogue was a bit different. Maybe it's psychological, and nothing really has changed. I found the characters talked about themselves more (Babette about her voice, Lorelai and Rory about their talking).

I loved the interaction between Lorelai and Rory. It's nice to have a friendly season openner between them. Rory is there to help her mother go through the break-up.

That break-up. The image of Lorelai's home almost empty (rid of anything Luke) made me laugh. The IKEA reference was funny (wow, they just said "IKEA" on the news on TV, freaky). I don't think Luke and Lorelai are over. They are for now. But they will be together. All signs point that way. When Luke came to see her at the end, I knew she would say "I slept with Christopher".

Poor Luke. Everything's falling appart for him. I can't believe Kirk crashed into the Diner. I was shocked! Taylor's reaction was so frustrating. He was talking about insurance and paint jobs. Hello!! Luke's Diner is missing a wall!

As for Rory and Logan, I was confident, but now I'm not too sure. Christmas is far away. Then again, Logan might have accepted Rory's offer to visit now. But she didn't suggest it, so we don't know. The rocket was funny, although I expected Rory's interpretation to be wrong.

Good news is, Rory will be home for the summer, with her mother. I wonder if we'll see the summer go by, or if next week's episode will be further in time.

Finally, the racketball scene was hilarious. I'm not big on sports, a "quality" I share with the Gilmore girls. So this scene made me laugh.

A good episode. The new season looks promising.

Talk about this episode...
