Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers : The Guys in the Gilmore Girls' lives

In Lorelai's Life...

Christopher Hayden: One of the first guys in Lorelai's life. Probably the one who had the largest impact... he is, after all, Rory's father. Since Rory's birth, he and Lorelai had never been "in the same place at the same time", that is, until a couple of years ago when he made a visit to Stars Hollow following Rory's car accident. However, the birth of his second daughter Gigi, to his girlfriend Sherry, interrupted any possibilities that existed between the two at the time. Christopher has two daughters and has never been married. He is currently single. To this day, I still have a glimpse of hope that he and Lorelai will one day be together.

Max Medina: Rory's english teacher at Chilton and, according to Lane, the guy with nice guy hair. max and Lorelai met on a parent-teacher meeting and started dating during Rory's first year at Chilton. Aside from being "gramatically correct" and a great cook, Max was one of the greatest guys ever to enter Lorelai's life. He and Lorelai were engaged for a summer. Although Lorelai never fully explained why she called the wedding off, we can guess that the possibility of getting back together with Christopher had something to do with it. Mad had never been married before meeting Lorelai.

Alex: Lorelai met him at a business lecture she attended with Sookie. They shared the same business ambitions and affinity for coffee. They had a couple of dates including a fly-fishing date.

Jason "Digger" Stiles: He and Lorelai met as children through their fathers' business partnership. Their relationship was first built on a desire to annoy Emily. However, it blossomed over time, but was cut short due to business issues between the Stiles and the Gilmores.

Luke Danes: If Prince Charming wore flanel, a baseball cap and drove "the oldest truck known to man", Luke would be the perfect contender. He's been keeping Lorelai alive, literally, for almost ten years, serving her burgers, fries and an unlimited supply of coffee. His feelings for Lorelai have been, ironically, for a long time obvious to everyone except Lorelai. The two have been together since the openning night of the Dragonfly Inn, when Luke made his intentions clear to Lorelai. Other than Lorelai, Luke had a longterm relationship with Rachel, a photographer, and was briefly married to Nicole, a lawyer. We are now happy to announce that he no longer owns a single bed.

In Rory's Life...

Dean Forester: Rory's first love and longest relationship to date. They dated for more than two years, with minor interruptions. They were also together for a couple of months during Rory's second year of college. First known as the mysterious new guy at Stars Hollow High, Dean gave Rory a hand made bracelet on her sixteenth buirthday and later built her a car. It was Dean who escorded Rory to her Debutante Ball... Rory has shared many firsts with her high school sweetheart. Dean had a girlfriend in Boston, Beth, before moving to Stars Hollow. He is currently working through the hardships of a high school marriage, with his wife Lindsey.

Tristan DuGray: He has never dated Rory, but their brief encounter is worth mentionning. From the first day Rory set foot at Chilton, Tristan was instantly intriged by his "Mary". They shared a kiss at Madeline's party, the day following Rory's first break-up with Dean. Their newfound friendship during Rory's second year at Chilton was cut short when Tristan was sent to Military School.

Jess Mariano: Luke's nephew and Rory's equal when it comes to literary taste, Jess was the bad boy of Stars Hollow the minute he got off the bus. He was the cause of Rory and Dean's second break-up, and was blamed for the car accident that fractured Rory's wrist. He and Rory dated for some months. However, Jess's lack of attendance in school and inability to deal with his disfunctionnal family, made it impossible for them to stay together. Their intense relationship filled with books and music ended when Rory graduated from High School and Jess left Stars Hollow. He later came back, declaring his love for Rory, who made it clear that she could no longer deal with his unstability.

Marty: Rory's new college friend also known as the "naked guy". They met during their first week at Yale. Marty's interest in Rory is obvious. However, Rory only considers him to be a good friend for now.

Logan Huntzberger: A fellow Yale student and a member of the Life & Death Brigade, a Secret Society, Logan sure has a talent for catching Rory's attention. Not much can be said on his subject at the moment other than the fact that he is a combination of Dean's mysterious air, Jess's sense of adventure and Tristan's arrogance, while sharing Rory's interest in journalism. I expect great things from our "Master and Commander".

Who are your favourite Guys in the Gilmore Girls' lives?
Now that you know what I think, tell us who you think is perfect for Lorelai and for Rory.
