Tippecanoe and Taylor, Too episode #5.04 | written by Elise |
Elise's Comment:
Leaving aside the possibility that the Town Selectman campaign was maybe a reflexion of the current US Election Campaign, I really enjoyed this episode. And didn't Sookie look like the perfect little politician's wife? Under the humour, this episode had a lot of real emotion. The first scene got to me, when Luke is cooking breakfast in Lorelai's kitchen. It instantly brought back the memory of Lorelai's dream about 2 years ago... anyone remembers? Let me say that these two are so amazing together. I always imagined that the writters would wait until the end of the series to get them together. I tought it would be rushed otherwise, plus, I enjoyed seeing them flirt (and argue). They are proving me wrong. I loved one of the last scenes, when Lorelai comes up to his appartment and wakes him up. Just the way she tries to make a mental note that he goes to bed early because he has to get up early... it's adorable to see them!
Moving on, somewhat in the same department, I am glad that Lane finally moved on from Dave (does this mean I should as well?). The possibility of a Lane/Zach relationship seems a little slim. The scene where she tells him she likes him was well done however, I loved Zach's reaction and "air" comment. So who knows? I also want to mention that the band's cover of Jackson's favourite song was amazing. I'm ending this comment on Rory and Dean. I personally do not want them to get back together. Dean lied, he wouldn't have left Lindsey if she hadn't found Rory's letter. The sooner Rory realizes this, the better... and the sooner she can move on.
