How Many Kropogs
To Cape Cod?

episode #5.20| written by Elise

WB Summary: Wanting to make a good impression on Logan's powerful father, Mitchum Huntzberger, Rory learns everything she can about him before starting work as an intern at one of his newspapers. When Lorelai learns that Emily and Richard have invited Logan to Friday night dinner, she ends her boycott of family gatherings in order to get to know Logan better. During the evening, Emily and Richard fawn over Logan, but Lorelai sees a side of him that causes her to worry about Rory's involvement with the Huntzberger family. Meanwhile, Lorelai gets an interesting job offer, and Luke tries to talk Taylor into closing the Stars Hollow museum.

Elise's Comment:

Poor Lorelai. This is my main reaction from this episode. Everyone seems to have their own things, their own special world, while Lorelai's is fading away. What she once had with Rory is gone, Sookie has her own family, and her relationship with her parents is worst than ever. What intrigues me is that while they seem to be portraying Lorelai in this fashion, she is dating Luke. Why does Lorelai seem so lonely when all this time she has Luke? Her eyes were lighting up as she was talking of travelling plans. She is looking for something new, something refreshing, her own adventure. Thinking back on Dean's comment to Luke (a couple of episodes earlier), that Lorelai wanted more than he could offer her, I think that it might have been foreshadowing. I absolutely adore Luke, but he may not be the one for Lorelai. Did anyone notice how it's now Lorelai who hangs out at Sookie's home? I know she's in bed-rest, but it used to be the other way around. Now it's Sookie who has a family, Lorelai is the guest.

We can sure give Rory credit for trying her best to fallow in Mr Huntzberger's shadow. Is it just me or she seemed a little clumsy? Taking off her shoes like that. But we can give her credit though, for the research she did on the man. Wow. I liked the scene at the water fountain, when she took a photo with her cellphone. I wonder who she sent it to? I thought we would be seeing Lorelai receiving it. Rory is worrying me a little. She seems lost. She's trying to figure out who she is, and in which world she belongs. Logan seems to "high class" for her. She's fitting in just fine, but that's not where she truly belongs. That's my opinion anyways. This phase will most likely pass, and who knows if Logan will stick around for long. While on the subject of Rory, I have to comment that i was disapointed in her during dinner. She wasn't interracting with her mother very much. I expected more from her.

Yes, the famous diner. I couldn't believe Richard and especially Emily. I know they think highly of themselves, but that gives them no right to treat Lorelai the way they did. At the same time, they managed to treat her like a child and ignore her completely. I was furious. Who do they think they are? Especially treating her like that in front of company... it didn't speak highly of them. And their talk of marriage and children was way out of line. It's like they didn't realize how ridiculous they seemed to Logan and Rory. Logan seemed to be sucking up a little. He always seems to be playing a role. He's not genuine enough. I'm really not sure about this one. I'm really trying to trust and like him, but he's not giving me much to work on.

Note: No Kirk sighting, although I enjoyed seeing Taylor crushed under that plastic horse. What's up with Paris singing? This was truly something we don't see often. I am wondering if Christopher and Dean will be back before the end of the season, and if Sookie will have her baby. I hope it's a little girl.
